Loading application and the initial screen - 

After downloading the zip file, un-zip the file to your devices Install folder. Two files will be un-zipped, one is the application called  Carbv1 and the second file is the Help file called   Carbv1_help.pdb    After unzipping use your Hotsync function to load both files to your handheld device. After loading to your device, the initial screen should have an application called Carb-rater with the icon    above it.   You should also be able to display the files on your handheld to confirm that both files have been successfully loaded.  The first time that you start the application, a "fine print" screen will be shown stressing that the amount of insulin that the system suggests, is just a suggestion. If you feel the amount is not correct, do not take that amount. Take whatever amount you feel is correct. Also happening the first time that the application is run, is the creation of the empty data files. Remember to enter the SYSTEM area and update the time ranges, correction and coverage amounts of insulin. Also, add any food types and items along with the appropriate carb values. Doing so ahead of time will make running the application at each meal a little easier.
