To add an item to a meal - From the Main Menu - Select Meals, Add item to Meal, scroll and highlight the meal that you want to add to, select Continue, scroll and highlight the food type to add, select Continue, scroll and highlight the food item of the group, select Add item to meal. Continue selecting the food group and food items to add to this meal. When you are finished, select Cancel. The suggested amount of insulin to take is shown. If you had previously eaten any of the meal items, the count will be shown as matching food items. The suggested coverage insulin amount will also be adjusted to reflect prior history. The actual amount of insulin will be shown as un-adjusted coverage units. This is the amount calculated without taking into consideration prior history. If there are any matching meal items, you can select How to see a list of the prior meals that had a matching meal item. The date / time and meal blood glucose plus the next blood glucose is shown. If you agree with the suggested amount of insulin, select Cancel to return to the Main Menu. If you do not agree with the calculated amount, you can highlight and change the values in the Correction and Coverage areas. Don't forget to select Update actual amounts to update the files.
